Joke: Robotic Barkeeper

This a joke I received via email tonight.

A man walked into a very high-tech bar. As he sat
down on a stool he noticed
that the bartender was a robot. The robot
  clicked to attention and asked,
  "Sir, what will you have?"

The man thought a moment then replied? "A
  martini please."

The robot clicked a couple of times and mixed
the best martini the  man had ever had.

The robot then asked, "sir, what is your IQ?"
The man answered "oh, about 164."
The robot then proceeded to discuss the 'theory
of relativity',inter-stellar space travel', 'the latest medical break
  throughs', etc.......
  The man was most impressed.

He left the bar but thought he would try  a
different tact. He returned and took a seat. Again the robot clicked
and asked what he would have? "A Martini please."
Again it was surpurb.? The robot again asked
"What is your IQ sir?"
This time the man answered , "Oh about 100". So
the robot started discussing NASCAR racing, the latest basketball
scores, and what to expect the Dodgers to do this week end.

The guy had to try it one more time. So he left, returned and took a
stool.... Again a martini, and the question,
  "What is your IQ?"??
This time the man drawled out " Uh..... bout
  50".
The robot clicked then leaned close and very
  slowly asked ,
  "A-r-e?  y-o-u-r?  p-e-o-p-l-e???  g-o-i-n-g?
   t-o??  n-o-m-i-n-a-t-e?  H-i-l-l-a-r-y-??????

Updated: Path to 9/11 video clips

See them now before someone makes them take the clips down. BTW 6 of 6 didn't work for me.

If there is any truth to these clips, I know why the left is fighting tooth and nail to stop this show. It really make the Clinton Admin look horrible.

And fair warning the page is really slow to load.

HT to the Allahpundit.

Update: Here is another place to look. I was able to see the 6th one here. They are holding up just a little better.

We have reached a crossroads..

These are dangerous times. Dan says it best, and his link to Allahpundit backs it up pretty well. If we have reached a point in our history where a political party can dictate what the networks can show from a political point of view, then we must understand that if they succeed we will spiral downward. Lets compare how America has dealt with these sorts of things in recent history. When the propaganda film F911 aired, I don't recall one voice left or right, that demanded it be shut down. You just had a lot of people not watch it. When CBS was going to air the Reagan miniseries, you had at worst threats of boycotts and it aired unedited on Showtime. Now 'Path to 9/11' comes on the scene and you have Democratic Senators blasting the network and hinting that ABC is abusing their license. All over a Docudrama, they are implying a threat that I did not think could be taken seriously here. The threat of course is that the networks must publish only what a political party likes else their ability to function gets threatened. All I can say is God help us all if they succeed.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi?

The President says it will not happen:

"I just don't believe it," the president insists. "I believe the Republicans will end up being--running the House and the Senate. And the reason why I believe it is because when our candidates go out and talk about the strength of this economy, people will say their tax cuts worked, their plan worked. . . . And secondly, that this is a group of people that understand the stakes of the world in which we live and are willing to help this unity government in Iraq succeed for the sake of our children and grandchildren, and that we are steadfast in our belief in the capacity of liberty to bring peace."

Love or loathe President George W. Bush, you can't say he lacks the courage of his convictions. Down in the polls, with the American people in a sour mood over Iraq, Mr. Bush isn't changing his policy or hunkering down in the Oval Office. Instead he's doubling down, investing whatever scarce political capital he has to frame the November contest as a choice over the economy and taxes and especially over his prosecution of the war on terror.

God I hope he is right...

Did Bin Laden really come out on top?

Seems a mixed result:

LONDON, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Five years after it carried out the attacks of Sept. 11, al Qaeda remains a powerful organisation but its support is waning, a leading British think-tank said on Friday.

The U.S.-led response to the attacks has "seriously undermined" the group's ability to recruit, communicate and fund itself, but has also inadvertently enhanced al Qaeda's image, the Royal Institute of International Affairs said in a report.

"Five years after Sept. 11, a mixed picture of al Qaeda's fortunes is emerging," the report's author Dr Maha Azzam said.

"Although its image as a powerful terrorist organization has been enhanced, its leaders hide in caves and have lost the broad support of Muslims in the Arab world who oppose its terror tactics and its justification of violence in the name of Islam."

Monks Vs Vikings?

Killer video here. Funniest thing I have seen in a long time and the animation is smartly done. Fair warning though, it is pretty violent.

The President draws a line in the sand.

The highlights thanks to the Allahpundit!

I like this guy's take:

The "old media" and Drudge have it all wrong. Bush is not reversing course and they are not getting "Geneva Rights."
Today, the President has wagered all of his "political chips" and sided with the uniformed Combat Arms Branches instead of the JAG Chiefs.

Hugh is pretty straight forward:

The president also included a muted but real rebuke to SCOTUS majority in Hamdan, as well as a blunt demand on Congress that it act quickly to authorize the military tribunals and procedures necessary to try the terrorists who launched the 9/11 attacks.  Only the Lamont wing of the Democratic Party will oppose such legislation.  In the next ten days or so we will see just how large that wing is.

Mario over at the corner thinks it is brilliant:

Taken as a whole, the President's maneuver today turned the political tables completely around.  He stole the terms of debate from the Democrats, and rewrote them, all in a single speech.  It will be delightful to watch in coming days and hours as bewildered Democrats try to understand what just hit them, and then sort through the rubble of their anti-Bush national security strategy to see what, if anything, remains.

I am leaning towards "D@mn good job Mr President. D@mn good job...

Have you been a victim of a missle attack?

Beleive it or not, some people have trouble figuring out if they have been attacked by a missile. Dr Rusty ate mypetjawa.mu.nu has been kind enough to find an expert video to help you determine if you have been effected by a missile strike.

The Taliban gets safe haven

This makes it very unlikely that Afganistan will be a mark in the win column.

According to Adnkronos International, the Taliban is now "calling the shots in North and South Waziristan." The Taliban and Pakistan have agreed on a truce that ensures the Pakistani Army "will not carry out operations against them" in North Waziristan. The tribal Jirga confirms this, and Pakistani troops have now withdrawn from North Waziristan.

Updated: G'day.. and g'bye to the Crocodile Hunter

God Bless you Steve Irwin.

“The world has lost a great wildlife icon, a passionate conservationist and one of the proudest dads on the planet,” John Stainton, Irwin’s friend and producer, said in the statement. “He died doing what he loves best and left this world in a happy and peaceful state of mind. Crocs Rule!”

R.I.P.

Update: an old IMW tribute.
